Blackpool prepares to host Petplan dog show

The Petplan Junior Stakes qualifier will be one of four taking place at various venues across the country, leading to a final involving 28 different dogs attempting to sniff out the coveted title, and the competition is for both dogs and bitches, between the ages of 6 and 18 months.

Petplan invested £5,000 towards the various costs of running and promoting Blackpool’s Championship Dog Show, and the pet insurance provider is making concerted efforts to advertise the event to customers, although the show is already very well known amongst the dog breeder and dog showing community.

Blackpool and District Canine Society Chairman, Steve Hall, said: “This is a fantastic event for the whole community and hosting the Petplan Junior Stakes at the event is a great opportunity for us to work alongside a household name such as Petplan and continue to build on our already successful event.”

Petplan has also added a little extra to the Junior Stakes build-up by organising a competition to win a VIP break to the Amsterdam Winner Dog Show in November.  The prize includes return flights and three nights’ accommodation, as well as admission to the show, dinner and drinks.  In order to enter, visit the Petplan stand at any of the four qualifiers; the other three hosts are Bath Canine Society, Southern Counties Canine Association and Darlington Championship Dog Show.
