Clever kitty conquers the sewer!

The black cat, named Midnight, made her way through the underground tunnels, and a neighbour of Midnight’s owner, Jeanette Young, heard faint meows from under a nearby manhole cover.

The neighbour contacted Severn Trent, and two workmen were sent to rescue the super-smart putty-tat!  Other than being more than a little dirty, the cat was in good condition, unharmed and ready to go home.

An elated Miss Young said: “It is absolutely amazing. She is so clever. How on earth did she find her way back home underground?

“She was just a few steps away from our front door so she did a brilliant job of navigating herself around.  It is like a Disney movie, or a comic book story about a super cat.  We are all delighted she is home.  She is doing very well, although she was a bit smelly when she first came out.”

After Midnight’s disappearing on March 1st, Miss Young and her two daughters feared the worst, as the cat’s sister had recently been hit by a car.  The two daughters were understandably ecstatic to see their beloved pet home again, safe and sound.

The workmen explained that the nearest point of entry to the sewer would have been about two miles away, making the moggy’s feat even more astonishing.

Midnight’s efforts were rightly rewarded with a salmon supper, followed by plenty of strokes.

Thats a brilliant story! How the cat got in the sewer is the question and the problem! They need to be keeping the access to these places well sealed.
