Which? votes John Lewis top dog for insurance

A winning policy score of 89% was awarded for the annual dog cover, whilst the cat insurance policy came in a respectable third in its own category (no pun intended), achieving 88%.

The dog insurance policy score was generated through assessing cover for vet fees, euthanasia, cremation/burial, third party liability, dental, kennel/alternate temporary homing fees and overseas.  The cat policy was judged through the same criteria, excluding third party liability.

The John Lewis pet insurance annual policies include £3,000 vet fee cover for cats or £4,000 for dogs, as well as up to £1,000 for advertising if a dog or cat goes missing, and £1,000 finder’s reward.
